Intro
Short intro abt myself, I’ve been making music privately for 4 years on&off. Not going to say my music is good so a warning, but if no guide helps, this might help, from a diferent prespective. A note I dont know the proper wording of certen stuff. I use FL Studio. Only recently started publishing them but not sure why tho,

Beat
This is what seems to work for me, but remember you wont make a good beat each time!
- Start with bass, i use syths like vital and surge xt
- Play with your keyboard till some set of notes sound okay or good
- Record it and touch it up in piano roll manually
- Get a clap, snare, 808 & hi-hat and just place them with what feels right, its fine if it takes a bit to make it sound good
- Optionally make a second bass chord, and make a precussion set
- Now you can make a main chord. get a new instance of a synth or whatever you use, find something you like and make it
- Note: i say “make it” but it does take sometimes a long time to make something even decent as a starting point
- You can also make a subbass based on the main bass for extra oomf! overlay it on certen parts of the track
Vocals
- If you’ve got lyrics- great, go with the flow
- If not, and your not a good freestyler- what I do is sing jibberish to get a idea of what would work, and do a few versions and pick the best one
- Hopefully you should get some ideas on lirics on the spot, even just ish~
- Remember- if something feels not right, even just a little, keep re-recording till you like it.
Post processing
- Effects! Cuts! other stuff..
- Play around with cutting parts of precussions, or the main beat to make the beat more interestin
- add some fun effects like (fl studio) gross beat.
Notes
I’ve talked to other solo artists and it seems my method is harder for them, and that making a beat to vocals are easier, I will try that method and see maybe I’ve been doing it “wrong” (making it harder on myself)… But remember, there is no “Right” or “Wrong” method.
